The Bible is a like an onion…seriously. Just when you think you have it, you don’t! lol That is why you have to rely on the Holy Spirit to help you and guide you. Well let’s have a look at Matthew 24.
It’s here that the disciples are asking Jesus about the signs of the end. So Jesus tells them and given them a warning.
So I want to look specifically at verses 16-20. “Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:”
On the surface it fairly easy to relate these verses to the natural world. The Bible is a Spiritual Book so when we look at these in that way they will take on a different meaning.
Judea is a low place, and the verse is saying go to the mountains. You need to go from the low to the high in the Spirit. Keep going up in the Spirit. Find your protection in Christ.
Don’t come down from your house top. If you are in relationship with the Lord keep moving up and down let anything worldly distract you in coming down from that position.
And woe to those who have children that are nursing. This is not literal children. These are your obligations and burdens that tear and haul on you, and are draining you! Get rid of them. It’s not getting rid of your children, it’s getting rid of your worldly burdens so that you can devote you time to Christ because Christ is the only thing that will save you!
If you are in the field don’t turn around to get anything of the world.
Pray that you don’t have to fly in winter. hahhahah Well there is winter always at some point in the world. This is not a literal winter. This is the winter in your heart. PRAY to GOD that HE does not come at a time and find that you are cold hearted and your Spirit is dead!
Lastly pray that you don’t have to fly on the Sabbath. PRAY that you don’t take GOD for granted. Don’t say ah well I can skip my time with God today, I don’t need to talk to God today. God wants us everyday! PRAY that HE does not come and find your Spirit with the attitude where you say I am taking a break today from GOD.
The overall message is don’t turn around. Keep moving up to Jesus and never take your eyes from HIM! Don’t get distracted by the world and all its goings-on no matter how dark. The morning comes and the light with it!
God Bless you all and have a wonderful weekend!
