Blessed Are You

Matthew 5:11 KJV “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

You know this is a great time of trial for many Christians. Sometimes the trials come from those within ones own family. How are we to react when these things happen? The LORD tells us to rejoice, and be glad because great is our reward.

I will give you one example. Most people know I make stained glass. A few months back I made a circular piece depicting JESUS carrying the Cross. I knew right from the start it would be hard to frame just because it was round, and not square. Now I did carry it to a framing store, but they said they would not be able to do it.

Well I kinda gave up on trying to do much with it, but a friend of mine in the city is really good with wood, so I asked him if he could maybe try. He said sure, and that he loves a challenge. Well this weekend I went in and he made a perfect frame for the glass. I was so excited. It looks wonderful, and now I just need to maybe add a stain, and a red ribbon.

I decided to show it to a family member. Now this member is not a Believer. I just wanted to show the piece because it was such a great job with the frame and it looked really nice. The response I got back was disgusting. Here it is word for word:

“It looks like a jester carrying a thing up a hill.”

I was heartbroken to say the least. The person said nothing about the frame or the work, and just saw and took an opportunity to insult GOD.

The HOLY SPIRIT gently reminded me to be glad and enter HIS REST. I tried to pray for this person even though I really didn’t know what to say. I remember reading an article recently that said don’t worry if your prayers are not perfect, because the HOLY SPIRIT is our auto correct. That made me smile.

I hope that when people make you feel bad, or insult you because of the LORD that you will remember to pray, and not to worry about the way it comes out. The HOLY SPIRIT will auto correct your prayers and make you smile as well. Great is your reward, JESUS himself.

And for the record, I wrote no insulting response back to that message.

All Glory and Honour is Yours Almighty Father through Your SON, JESUS CHRIST!
